Adopt vs Buy

Many people asking me, what is adopt? Since to adopt has adoption fee, what is the difference between buy?

Well guys, the difference between adopt and buy is that, every pet been adopted, we don't make any profit from it. The adoption fee is to cover our expenses and to maintain the shelter. Pets from adoption centre a.k.a shelter usually are rescued and abandon pets.

Meanwhile buying pet from pet store, those hundreds or thousands bucks you spend on is for the pet shop's profit. Most of pets in pet shops are from breeders or most often pet mills.

What is pet mills?
Pet mills could be cat mills, puppy mills ... its like a factory to produce companion animals. They breed dogs and cats unethically. Just thinking about profit, money, money, money. Queen (the female) will be forced to get pregnant non stop. Their welfare and health are not taken care off. All unwanted (in mean of no one want to buy the pet) will be leave to die. They will keep pets in a small cage 24 hours, 7 days a week, no play time, no running around, no birdwatching, no nothing. Some times they are given good food, but usually no.

If you really want to own a pedigree, get them from certified breeder.

If you just want companion in your life, go to adoption centre to adopt one. Give them a chance to live a new life. I am sure they will be very grateful.
