Happy Belated Birthday Bubu's Shelter

I was busy editing this blog, reading my previous post, searching for my grammar error (yeah, I am preparing myself for IELTS) and that is when I realize that this blog was opened on 7th July 2007. What a coincidence.. 07.07.07. Nice date!! Though it's 10th July, it is not too late to wish Happy Birthday Bubu's Shelter. Bubu's Shelter has been running for 2 years and I am proud of B.S team, friends, readers, adopters, and everyone who's supported Bubu's Shelter from the beginning. For the past 2 years, we've successfully rehomed 19 cats and still counting.. I thank for everyone's support and effort in helping me maintaining Bubu's Shelter. I also wanna thank Shah Alam Vet (Seksyen 13) & Baby Pets Vet Sri Kembangan for charging me a very reasonable medication & treatment fees. A million thanks to everyone who's donated to Bubu's Shelter. Ashida & Faridzun for the 3ft cage, bowls, litter box, cat bed, and cat condo. Oui Mils for the litter scoop, and everyone who donated to Bubu's Shelter.Not to forget everyone who shopped at ThisCatShop.blogspot.com. Every penny you spend there I use to feed, treat,and pamper them. I also wanna thank everyone who promotes Bubu's Shelter and spread the word about our effort in helping the helpless out there. I hope what I've done now will create a new trend in Malaysia which are:

1. more non-kill shelter will be open in Malaysia.

2. more animal rescuer, animal behaviourist, volunteers are born.

2. create the trend of adopting pets rather than buying from backyard breeder or pet mills.

3. create a trend of learning about the pets and understanding them. Pets are not decoration. They are life which completes ours.

I hope more Malaysian will be enlighten especially about animal welfare, about neutering, about animal behaviours, and about the animal itself.

It has been awhile since I update the blog. Currently I'm having exam. Since I never stated I need donation or not, I was approached by some people, asking me do I accept donation. Yes, I do accept your sincere donation.

I would like to share Bubu's Shelter goal by 2020.

1. Bubu's Shelter has its own land to accommodate cats and kittens. We will also have special partition for sick/recovering cats, F.I.V (Feline immunodeficiency virus) positive cats,"cat flu carrier" cats and etc. We believe that all cats deserve equal love though they are F.I.V positive or "cat flu carrier" cats. We hold the policy of no-killing shelter and all cats deserve chance to heal if they're sick.

2. Be a consultant for people who seeks help in feline behavior problem or other feline related questions.

Introduction

Bubu's Shelter is a shelter focused on kittens with no mother. They may be kittens which been abandon by owner or stray kittens which their mother died in accident,sick,etc. To me, it is hard for kitten to survive without their mother so that's why Bubu's Shelter will protect them from harm and keep them warm during the cold night. Here, kittens will be teach how to use litter box, get use to water & hairdryer(so that it's easy for future owner to bath them) and most importantly, learn how to be human bestfriend. All kittens are open for adoption.

Picture attached is Bubu, the founder of Bubu's Shelter. He was a 3weeks+/- old stray kitten which his mother died after fighting with a dog when I found him. He gives me the idea when he started to bring his friends which are stray cats and kittens back home and let them eat his food. So since then, his friends keep coming to my house for food and sometimes shelter during rainy days. Unfortunately, at his age of 6months old, he went missing and until now, he is nowhere to be traced. So this shelter is a contribute to him and I hope he is happy that I help his friends and kittens who have the same fate as him.
