"Ahhh!! Kitty poop on my bed!! Bad kitty.. bad!! "
Have you ever encounter where your cats poop on your bed on purpose though kitty has direct access to litter box? Or kitty just start spraying everywhere, sofas, wall, door, and even you? Or kitty just love to scratch your favourite couch?
Scent-marking is a form of communication, which has territorial and personal implications that allows cats to advertise their priority with respect to living space, objects, other cats and people. It also serves as a method of advertising that females are searching for mate.
Domestic cats often engage in scent-marking of one form or another while we enjoy their bunting, other forms of marking behavior involve urine, feces, or furniture scratching. Hohoho! We surely don't like these.
When kitty defecates on our bedspread or urinates on our legs, just view as a great compliment, signifying close attachment.
Though this is not usually our interpretation, but that is how cats were made. That is how they show how much they love us.

Love me
Still remember them in the story "box"? Kittens we found at Cheras Downtown? It was 2 months ago. Now they are big, extra naughty, hyperactive, happy, playful kittens. They loves the attention too. It has been extra fun and extra mess for me to take care of them.. All 5 of them.
A few days later after I brought the "Cheras" kittens back, I found one kitten under my neighbor's car, meowing, searching for her mom. She was 1/2 month elder than the "Cheras". Named her Melissa. Knewing their fate are the same - motherless, they get along well. Sadly, Melissa's getting blind. Her eyes are getting cloudy. Hope for the best..
A month later, I opened my front door, a kitten came in. Lost. He was scared. And I was shocked to see a litter box, filled with unscooped litter, infront of my home. Darghh.. Now people thinks my place is a kitten-dumping place. So irresponsible! I name him James. He has a buddha belly. I dewormed him, and he's tummy remains the same. Oh, James, you are so "boyot"!
James . A male kitten. The boyot kitten shall I say. Approximately 6 1/2 months old.

Tiny Alex The Cheras. Tiniest of all. I just don't know why. He's active but he don't really fight for foods unlike his other siblings. I think that's why he's tiny. A BIG BUT, he is seriously crazy about cheese. He has flea allergy so it is important to have up-to-date flea protection.

Catnip mania
70 - 90% cats are likely to exhibit at least some reaction to catnip, which is an herbal relative of the mint family. Even the housecat's super-sized cousins (lions, pumas and leopards) get turned on by it.
Some cats get whacky when they smell the stuff - licking, meowing and rolling around. Other cats don't get the same kind of buzz. And a few show absolutely no interest in catnip at all. Cats of reproductive age tend to enjoy it more than older or younger cats, while kittens under 8 weeks of age and cats that are fearful or stressed may avoid it altogether.
Scientists aren't sure what causes the "catnip reaction" but most kitties have a blast when they're around it. The fun usually lasts anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes. But after the frolicking is over, most cats won't respond to catnip again for at least another hour.
Many people buy catnip toys for their kitties. Some catnip toys propel your kitty into overdrive while others seem to get little or no response at all.
Why is that?
The active ingredient that gives your cat a "buzz" is called nepetalactone. It's highly concentrated in the leaves and blossoms of the catnip plant, but not in the stems. Which means catnip that contains stems will have less of an effect on your cat.
The catnip used in many commercial catnip toys and products is made from the entire catnip plant -stems and all. This "toy grade" catnip is cheaper, but the toy will be much less appealing to your cat.
Another important factor in the effectiveness of a toy is the actual amount of catnip the toy contains. Some manufacturers merely "scent" their toys. Others use only a small amount of catnip, stuffing their toys with "fillers" like cotton or plastic. These toys will be far less pleasing to your precious pet.
When you buy loose catnip, look for a greenish hue. It means the catnip is fresher, which is important because catnip loses its potency as it ages. But you can't see the catnip inside the toy, so how will you know if it's fresh? Take a sniff. If you can't detect any herbal smell, chances are the catnip is old or of low quality.

Is your kitty sick?
Cats are not like dogs. Cats have high resistant and they will not show they are sick until the last stage of the illness, then all symptom appears. They'll act normal - play, eat as usual, but actually, they are sick. Cat is a good actor I can say. So how do we know our kitty is sick?
1. They don't groom well or don't groom at all. Eg: Scruffy coat
2. They sleep more or less than usual. House cat sleeps 13-16 hours a day meanwhile wild cat sleeps 8-12 hours a day. If your cat sleeps more or less than that, it may show your cat is sick or boring.
3. Lost appetite, or eats less than usual amount.
4. Not alert. Try giving your kitty wet food, does kitty becomes crazy? Or try play with kitty. Move a feather or something. Does kitty wanna catch it? or does kitty eyes look at the moving thing?(for lazy cats at home)
5. Goes to toilet often than usual. Eg: Kitty keeps going to toilet every 15minutes. This is a sign of kidney stone.
6. Kitty looks lethargic. Eg: Kitty just lay in his bed, doing nothing, like a person whose day dreaming, all day long, kitty just lay and sleep in his bed.
If you spot any of these signs, bring kitty to the vet. Remember, cats are an Oscar winning actor/actress..

good bye Ammar
Last week, Ammar was having fever, but it last one day only, so I thought, it's ok. A week later, his eyes was so like puss in the boot's eye. I said, "Eee.. Ammar you make that puss in the boots face, so cute of you". He sleeps all the time, don't play, but he lets Melissa to rub her cheek and body towards him. They are like the shark and the small fish which will stick on shark's body for cleaning - Yes! Ammar and Melissa totally like that!.
2 days later, I realize he's getting skinny, lost appetite, and sleeps 24 7. I was petting him, when i saw his ears, paws, gum turns yellowish. Oh no! Jaundice! The next morning I brought him to vet. Vet gave liver tonic and Jaundice medicine. Ammar pupil is big, and that means the toxic has reached to it's brain. His kidney swollen up too. Vet advice me to give wet food and bring him back a.s.a.p if he totally don't eat or drink.
Back home, I fed Ammar his meds, and I crossed my fingers, hoping he'll eat the wet food and hurray! he eats without force feeding. There's hope! There's hope! He'll survive. The next day, Ammar start to pee dark yellowish, and he drinks, but don't touch his food at all. I need to force feed him. This is not good! The another day he don't drink nor eat! All the food I feed, he'll throw it out again. So I bring him to the vet for drip. He is so weak, he can't even walk.
Ammar was admitted. I kissed him before I go back. Vet told me, in this stage, it's 50-50 because he's not responding to the meds that they gave.
The next morning, I was in class. I realize I had a misscall from the vet when I reached home. I called back and the receptionist told me that the doctor has patient and he'll call me back. At 4pm, vet called me. She said that Ammar can't be saved. He was not responding to the drip, the oxygen, and the meds. When vet called in the morning was to inform me that Ammar is dying and wanna let me see him for the last time. But it's too late now. He died. I picked him up at night after evening class. He was wrapped respectfully - with white canvas and plastic bag. Brought him home for burial. Everyone was sad. Melissa isolate herself in a corner, Panjang be with Ammar through the whole burial process, the kids were there too - looking at Ammar being buried.
I'll be missing your licks. You even lick me before we go to vet, as if you know you are not going to see me again. I never knew you'll go away this young. May you rest in peace. Good bye Ammar..
