kitty hunt
That's my entertainment because I don't have any T.V at home right now..
This behavior starts when they are kittens. Poking, batting and tossing around small objects are how kittens learn to stalk prey. It is their natural instinct to chase things.
During such play sessions they develop the survival skills that would help them provide for themselves if they ever needed to do so. You may see your kitten stomp on her toys, flip them over, and circle them once they land. These actions mimic the act of overpowering and killing a prey animal for food.
Cats may jump up from their toys abruptly, as if noxious, invisible rays were emanating from them, and then dissolve into fits of sheer delight and discovery. It's such a funny thing to watch.

Humpty
1. I'm doing my internship now and I get tired most of the time so there goes Panjang, my gay kitty massaging my back. He is very good with it. But the unwanted part is that, an the end of every session, he'll hump my back. Tiny wet dots on my shirt. Oh my gay.. well, atleast he doesn't hump other female cats.. Hahaha..
2. I am aware that in Cyberjaya there's alot of foreign students especially the Arabs, Africans, Iranians, Mongolians, Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, etc. One midnight, a friend of mine has just gone back from work. She saw a bunch of Africans making a circle in the middle of the road. Curiously, she parked her car nearby and saw a terrified little kitten in the human circle, trying to run away. She was about to safe the kitten when a car came, the Africans jog aside, and Crack!! The car hit the poor kitten. Its head flatten, the paws shivering. The moment of death. Few passer-by who saw what those guys did scolded them. Those guys were laughing out loud. Thinking that kiling an innocent kitten is some kind of joke and they replied "we love killing animals." What a sick bunch of guys. There's alot of sick people like them all over the world. I also do read some cases where Malaysian threw pieces of sharp glass towards the dog. Some put needle in the egg, give to the dog, then the needle causes internal injuries, and the dog died. How I wish Malaysia has Animal Cop..
3. Last Saturday an adopter came to my home to get a closer look at the kittens. Everyone is not trying to impress her. My friends assume they don't wanna leave the shelter. I talked to them. I said, "This is just your temporary home. That is why I've been training you guys to behave because you need to impress those adopters. I love you guys and I always do. That is why I promise I will find good adopters so that you will be happy for the rest of your life. I will not allow you to experience those bad life again." Ever since the last Saturday experience, Amy-who's the most ego of all kittens, who never wanna show her passionate to me, starts to cuddle me, sit on my lap, follow where ever I go. Every morning she'll wait in front of my bedroom door - giving me a cheeck rub on my leg, and the most cute of all, giving me this "can I stay here" face.. Hahaha.. When they get to their new home, surely they'll forget about me already..

Ahh!! Hair mats!!
Removing hair mats is fraught with potential complications. Many mats are firmly attached to the skin, so you must be extremely careful not to cut the skin as you cut off the mat. Many small mats can be removed with a thorough brushing. If mats remain, try to make the mat smaller by brushing the hair near the mat.
Once you are sure that the mat can only be removed by cutting the hair, then go for the scissors. Clippers are the safest and best way to remove matted hair. Unfortunately, most people do not own clippers and must make do with scissors. Be very careful. For severely matted pets, it is easier and safer to see a groomer for professional help.

Something I hope
Teen charged in Miami's 19 serial cat killings
(CNN) -- A teenager is being held on 19 counts of animal cruelty linked to a month-long killing spree of pet cats in the Miami area, police said.Tyler Hayes Weinman, 18, also is charged with 19 counts of improper disposal of dead animals and four counts of burglary, police said.
Weinman lives in Cutler Bay and has lived with his parents in Palmetto Bay, the two towns where police said 19 cats were mutilated and killed.
Pet owners and police began discovering disfigured cats May 13. One pet owner, Donna Gleason, said her family cat, Tommy, was "partially skinned" and left dead in her yard.
Police said 34 cats have been found dead in the towns, but only 19 mutilated cats could be linked to a serial killer. Police confirmed that some of the cats were killed by dogs, said Maj. Julie Miller of Cutler Bay police. Weinman, who works odd jobs but spends most of his time at home and unemployed, had been a person of interest for several weeks, Miller said. He was arrested Saturday. The police are looking into whether any people Weinman associates with might have been accomplices in the killings. Weinman's sealed juvenile record includes two prior offenses, Miller said.
He could face a maximum of 158 years in state prison if convicted on all counts, said Terry Shavez, spokeswoman for the state attorney's office.
The mayor of Cutler Bay referred to the string of feline attacks as a "plague in South Miami-Dade."
"The cruelty of these crimes were horrific for the animal victims, but there were many human victims as well," Mayor Paul Vrooman said.
"Let's not forget the children and the families who found their pets mutilated. These awful scenes inflicted a human toll."I hope one day Malaysia implement heavy punishment for citizen who practice animal cruelty

Water Fountain
I'm the lazy kinda person, especially when it comes to providing clean water 24 7. Cats need fresh and clean water to drink. And since my cats love touching the water before drinking, sometimes their fur, dirt, ants, bugs and what so ever goes into the water bowl. I remembered of changing their water about 6 times a day. That is damn tiring!
So I bought Catit Water Fountain by Hagen for RM87 with free dish bowl which I can hookup beside the water fountain. That was way back in 2007. Now the price rose up to RM102. Lucky me!
Let me share you the pros of the water fountain:-
1. Obviously you don't have to change the water bowl 6 times a day like me.
2. The water fountain allow us to store 3 liter of water, which last for 3 days for 12 cats.
3. There is water filter, so what your cat drinks is clean water. All those dirt, fur, what so ever things is filtered.
4. The water is circulated to maintain its freshness. Many cats drink more when they are around "running water".
5. It is a good tool to promote adequate water intake. Good investment for your cat's health too.
6. Good quality & very solid. I've used it for 3 years, every single part is still working. The water pump, the plug etc. Well, that actually depends on how you take care of it. If you make it as a football, of course it'll not last that long.
The cons:-
1. A throat chocking price.
2. When the water in the water fountain storage is empty, there will be a loud noise coming out from the fountain. Sound of the fountain's pump pumping without the water. But it's a good alarm for you to fill it up.
3. You need to change the filter monthly. Cleaning the filter is kinda messy because when you brush out dirt from the filter, you need to do it gently. Preferable using old toothbrush. Else the filter layer may come out, and all the carbon tablets may falls out of the filter.

New Section
I myself find it hard to decide which product to choose. I'm afraid of wasting money on a product which is not working at all. So I decided to add a new section to help you guys and me, of course, to choose the right product by reviewing all cat related (sometimes maybe other animal related) product out there in Malaysia and in the virtual world - online shopping.

Cats & Asthma
We always think that the cat's and dog's fur are one of the main reason our baby gets asthma. So to avoid babies get asthma, we need to get rid of our beloved pet. I know it's hard to rehome our pet what to say they had lived with us for years. All those happy moments, memories..
I always believe that when there's a will, there's a way.
First, we need to know what is asthma? Asthma is a disease causing difficulty in breathing. Babies with family with history of anatopy disease is the highest risk of developing asthma. Asthma may also caused by immune reaction to a variety of irritants (allergens such as dust, dust mites, pollen, dander, crocroaches and mold) and environmental pollutants (such as tobacco smoke). In fact, there's a strong connection between allergies and asthma. Sixty percent of asthmatics suffer from allergies, usually hay fever. And babies with allergies -- experienced in infancy as eczema or a food allergy -- are at a greater risk for asthma. Asthma attacks can also be brought on by upper respiratory infections and even cold air.
One of the allergens is cat dander. That is our doctor usually suggest to avoid contact between furry animals and babies. Cat dander is a protein made from glands in the skin. This allergen, called Fel d 1, is produced in large amounts, particularly by male non-neutered cats as the allergen is partially under hormonal control.has many characteristics that make it the perfect allergen: it is airborne, sticks to everything, is found in public places and homes without cats, and it can last for months to years.
Here are some ways to decrease cat allergen exposure to babies:
- Ensure the cat is neutered
- Bathing the cat at least once or twice a week
- Wiping the cat with a wet cloth or hand towel daily
- Do not allow cat's to go into the babies bedroom
- Keep cat is cage and outdoor if possible. You may wear apron while playing the cat or change your clothes after playing with cats so that your clothes will not be incontact with your baby
- Vacuum frequently
- Consider removal of carpeting from the bedroom and other common areas of the home
- You may need to buy air purifier
- Follow house dust mite avoidance precautions
Hope these info might help anyone who's having a baby and a cat at the same time..
